Clean and Safe Oil-Free Air Compressors

Here at R.W. Lindsay, we have a few different kinds of oil-free air compressors for you to choose from. An oil-free air compressor is the way to go if you need clean air without a hint of oil.

• Oil-Free Reciprocating Air Compressors: Non-lubricated reciprocating compressors typically use a Teflon piston ring instead of oil. This ring works as the lubrication substitute for the pistons, rings, and cylinders because the Teflon material reduces wear.
• Oil-Free Rotary Screw Air Compressors: In an oil-free rotary screw compressor, external gears synchronize the position of the counter-rotating screw elements. This means the rotors do not come into contact with each other or create friction, so there is no need for lubrication within the compression chamber. 

• Oil-Free Scroll Air Compressors: A scroll compressor is also known as a spiral compressor, a scroll pump, or a scroll vacuum pump. This compressor includes a mobile and a stationary spiral that work together to compress air into the chamber. The rotary spiral scroll design creates a continual compressed air flow over multiple stages, and there is no need for oil lubrication.
• Oil-Free Centrifugal Compressors: Centrifugal air compressors are large oil-free, multistage, dynamic compressors. These air compressors offer continuous airflow through an impeller rotating at high speeds. This process converts kinetic energy into pressure energy.
